I know it’s been a while since I updated my blog. During the last months, I was busy switching jobs, getting to know new technologies and meeting with friends. However, I still found some time to publish some new articles in the print media:
- “Abgetaucht – Raspberry Pi als Tor-Router und Web-Filter“, published in the German Raspberry Pi Geek, explains how to set up an Onion Pi which helps you browsing the web anonymously. A shorter version of this article was also published in the US Linux Magazine, you can view it online here. In addition, the article for the German Raspberry Pi Geek got translated and published in the US Raspberry Pi Geek magazine (take a look here).
- “Nicht anfassen! – Windows-Rechner freihändig mit Leap Motion steuern“, published in the German Windows Phone User, shows my experience with the Leap Motion controller under Windows. A very similar article was also written by me for the German Linux Magazine.
- “Eingesperrt – Programmzugriffe kontrollieren mit AppArmor“, published in the German LinuxUser magazine, explains how to use AppArmor. I really like this tool and I hope my article helps at least someone to get in touch with this topic!
- “Leicht inkontinent – Kommerzieller Filterproxy SafeSquid“, also published in the German LinuxUser, shows how I got in touch with SafeSquid for the first time. While I discovered some great concepts behind that web filtering solution, I also stumbled across several weaknesses. By the way, this article was translated and published in the US Linux Magazine (read more here).
As always I am really thankful that I am allowed to write for those amazing magazines. It has always been a dream for me to work with open source software and amazing tools. But what is even cooler is being able to write about these things! I highly recommend to buy the magazines if you are interested in Linux and open source stuff. In addition, Windows Phone User is a great magazine when it comes to smartphones running Windows.

If you are a fan of SaltStack and cheat sheets I have great news for you! Today I started to combine both things and published a very early version of my SaltStack Cheat Sheet. You can view the Salt Cheat Sheet here. Please note that this cheat sheet is still work in progress.
